Discipline Policy
One of the most important things children learn at this point in their development is to control their behavior. Our teachers accept this challenge of well-handled discipline, and if necessary, time-outs are used.
Our Five Step Approach is as follows:
- The first step is a verbal warning. This is to be used at the teacher’s discretion.
- Next is the use of “time-out.” This is also to be used at the teacher’s discretion.
- If discipline issue persists, the director will then step in to enforce a “timeout.”
- On rare occasions, our Family Ministries Pastor (Mom’s Day Out Administrator) may be called to verbally warn the child.
- If it is necessary, the parent will be called made aware of the discipline issue. At this point, the child would be sent home by the director. Re-admittance would be discussed by the MDO administration.
