Discipline Policy

One of the most important things children learn at this point in their development is to control their behavior. Our teachers accept this challenge of well-handled discipline, and if necessary, time-outs are used.

Our Five Step Approach is as follows:

  1. The first step is a verbal warning. This is to be used at the teacher’s discretion.
  2. Next is the use of “time-out.” This is also to be used at the teacher’s discretion.
  3. If discipline issue persists, the director will then step in to enforce a “timeout.”
  4. On rare occasions, our Family Ministries Pastor (Mom’s Day Out Administrator) may be called to verbally warn the child.
  5. If it is necessary, the parent will be called made aware of the discipline issue. At this point, the child would be sent home by the director. Re-admittance would be discussed by the MDO administration.
