Children's Missions

Boys and Girls Missions Challenge (BGMC) is the Assemblies of God missions program for children that instills a heart of compassion to reach the lost through praying, giving and going. All funds raised through BGMC go to meet critical needs around the world such as feeding programs, water wells, Bible schools, curriculum and whatever else a missionary needs in their region.

At First Assembly Memphis, children are encouraged to save coins in yellow containers called Buddy Barrels which is given to them when they arrive to Children’s Church. The first Sunday of each month is called BGMC Sunday and during that time an emphasis is placed on a particular country or continent. On BGMC Sundays all the children bring their Buddy Barrels to Children’s Church, filled with the money they have raised, and it is collected in a special missions offering.
